Original songs and covers — straight from the boat
I wrote my first song at eight years old. It wasn't very good — but it was mine. Music became my way of turning feelings I couldn't quite say out loud into something I could share.
I play acoustic guitar and piano, and I write about everything: friendships, the places I travel, moments on the boat, the people who shape me. Sometimes a song starts as a voice memo recorded on a ski slope. Sometimes it comes from a late-night Zoom call with my best friend Lyla.
All my songs are posted on Instagram at @songs.by.sage — I'd love for you to listen.
Living on a sailboat gives you endless material. Sunsets, storms, new anchorages — everything finds its way into a song eventually.
My closest songs come from real relationships — the complicated ones, the perfect ones, and everything in between.
I once recorded five or six voice memos on a ski slope because a melody kept coming to me. Inspiration doesn't wait for a convenient moment.
